Neurotherapy combines traditional talk therapy with neurofeedback (also known as EEG biofeedback). Neurotherapy is a way to improve brain function. Through the process of neurotherapy training the brain learns to regulate itself more efficiently and effectively.
Neurofeedback has been clinically proven to
treat a number of different problems including ADD/ADHD, addictions, anxiety,
depression, headaches - including migraines, and posttraumatic stress disorder
(PTSD). If you are currently
taking medication for one or more of these problems you may find that
neurotherapy can reduce or eliminate the need for medication. Of course, the
decision to do that should always be made in consultation with your doctor.
Neurotherapy sessions typically last 45 minutes.
The number of sessions needed
varies with the severity and type of problem being treated. Positive,
measurable results such as improved mood, better sleep or a reduction in
headaches are often seen quickly, even after just a few sessions. Lasting results come with repeated
training.
