Worried Parents

Nothing can create as much anxiety, worry, or stress for parents as watching their child struggle.  As a father of two, I’ve lost plenty of sleep myself– sometimes worrying, sometimes just hoping for the best for them.  All of us want the best for our children.  Yet when you see your child struggle it can be a very lonely feeling.  Teachers and school administrators are so busy and have so few resources to offer.  Doctors can often only offer medication. Don’t get me wrong. Sometimes medication can be very helpful.  But it always comes with side effects and these days most come with so many “Black Box Warnings” it seems less and less like a good idea.

Being a parent isn’t easy but you don’t have to do this alone.  Don’t make the mistake that others sometimes make, just waiting and hoping that your child “will grow out of it.”  Don’t wait until your child’s problems become so stressful that it begins to effect your health, your work, or your relationship with your significant other.

If your child is struggling, whether he just isn’t living up to his potential at school, or she is having serious problems with depression or anxiety, there is help. Even older adolescents often lack the vocabulary, experience, and insight to gain much from traditional talk therapy.  My desire to help children was one of the reasons I became interested in neurotherapy, which combines the best of age-appropriate talk therapy, with neurofeedback.  I invite you to explore the resources available on this site regarding neurotherapy, including the video on this page.

Even if your child is refusing your help and you are worried that he or she would refuse to come to appointments.  There is still a lot that can be done.   So, If you think your child needs help or might benefit from neurotherapy, or you have questions about this unique, effective approach call me today at (509) 628-4091.
